Ölaustritt an der Dichtung des Ölfiltergehäuses ist bei 6-Zylinder-Modellen aus den Jahren 1992–2005 häufig. 
Diese speziell geformte Dichtung dichtet die Verbindung zwischen Gehäuse und Motorblock ab, schrumpft und verhärtet jedoch bei längerem Gebrauch, wodurch die Abdichtung versagt und Öl auszulaufen beginnt.

Reparaturempfehlung:
Da für den Austausch der Dichtung Peripheriekomponenten (z. B. Riemen, Spanner, VANOS-Ölleitungen, Lichtmaschine usw.) demontiert werden müssen, wird empfohlen, diesen Vorgang mit der regulären Wartung zu verbinden, um Arbeitskosten zu sparen.

Solved the problem

Decided to replace both gaskets even though I only had a leak at the oil cooler, good thing to do while its apart and I'm glad I did.

I recommend an experienced mechanic to make the repair using the correct torque settings on the housing bolts (so the seal is not deformed). No more oil leaks for me! Very happy with this quality seal.

Check fitment before you buy

If you are doing the oil cooler gasket also, be prepared to remove the coolant hose to get access to the bolt from the back. After you are done, remember to properly bleed your cooling system before you drive.
