Does this need welding, or can I just bolt it in?
It needs welding. This isn't a bolt-on kit.The baffle is made from aluminum alloy and is designed to be welded into a compatible oil pan. You'll need to remove the pan, check the fit, and have someone experienced with aluminum welding handle the installation.
Will this completely prevent oil starvation during drifting?
No baffle can guarantee that. It helps control oil movement during hard cornering and drifting, but it won't fix low oil levels, an unhealthy oil pump, or every possible oil-pressure drop.Think of it as an extra layer of protection, not a complete oiling-system solution.
Will a baffle protect my engine during hard braking too, or just cornering?
It's intended to help manage oil movement inside the sump, not just during left- or right-hand turns.

It's good I think it does what it should do but my suggestion is to put the trap doors a little closer to the bottom as possible. Maybe a version 2.0

Make sure to check your engine model and car type first. Installation requires adaptation trimming for your engine and professional welding. Once installed your car will have significant performance improvement. Recommended.
