Les fuites d'huile au niveau du joint du boîtier de filtre à huile sont fréquentes sur les modèles à 6 cylindres de 1992 à 2005. 
Ce joint profilé assure l'étanchéité entre le boîtier et le bloc, mais il rétrécit et durcit avec le temps, ce qui entraîne une défaillance de l'étanchéité et l'apparition de fuites d'huile.

Recommandation de réparation :
Comme le remplacement du joint nécessite le démontage de composants périphériques (par exemple les courroies, les tendeurs, les conduites d'huile VANOS, l'alternateur, etc.), il est recommandé de réaliser cette opération lors d'un entretien régulier afin de réduire les coûts de main-d'œuvre.

Solved the problem

Decided to replace both gaskets even though I only had a leak at the oil cooler, good thing to do while its apart and I'm glad I did.

Quality Seal

I recommend an experienced mechanic to make the repair using the correct torque settings on the housing bolts (so the seal is not deformed). No more oil leaks for me! Very happy with this quality seal.

Check fitment before you buy

If you are doing the oil cooler gasket also, be prepared to remove the coolant hose to get access to the bolt from the back. After you are done, remember to properly bleed your cooling system before you drive.
