Een aantal van de grootste problemen bij het bezit van een BMW kan worden veroorzaakt door onderdelen van het koelsysteem. Ondanks jarenlange verbeteringen treden dezelfde defecten op bij de kunststof aansluitingen en adapters door jarenlange schommelingen tussen hoge en lage temperaturen. Bij de N54-motor kan de kunststof uitlaatadapter van de cilinderkop, die de cilinderkop met de thermostaatslang verbindt, defect raken. De standaard kunststof adapter breekt eenvoudig af aan het uiteinde van de slangtule, waardoor een groot koelvloeistoflek ontstaat.

Montagetips:

  • Verwijder de twee bouten van 10 mm.
  • Verwijder de oude aansluiting uit het motorblok. Verwijder ook de O-ring, omdat deze binnenin kan vastzitten.
  • Reinig de uitlaat op het motorblok. Verwijder eventuele resterende stukken uit de koelvloeistofslang.
  • Monteer de nieuwe aansluiting. Smeer de afdichtende O-ring vóór de montage. Draai de twee bouten van 10 mm vast.
  • Schuif de koelvloeistofslang over de uitlaatpoort. Draai de klem vast.

Perfect replacement

This part saved me the trouble of buying a whole hose for my 330i. The factory hose flange is part of the hose, and it was broken. The factory clamp was also broken. The hose is about an inch shorter, but it looks good. If you're replacing a leaking oil filter housing, you'll want to get one of these. But the price is amazing!

Better than original a lot

So far, so good. The OEM parts were more worn than I expected, so Im glad I replaced them. They perform as intended. Fit and finish look flawless. Ive only run a few hundred miles over the summer, but the hose clamps are holding tight, installed perfectly, and no leaks. The O-rings long-term condition remains to be seen, but so far, so good.

You should replace earlier

The stock plastic flange failed and stranded me roadside. Replaced it easily. The aluminum version is far superior to the original plastic. If your car still has the OEM plastic part, I recommend swapping it before it breaks.

Add grease to seal and housing to get item to seat correctly.

Great item. Easy install. Just put a thin coat of grease on the seal and put a thin coat of grease on the lip of the housing. Line it up, and the part will seat. Hold part. Install bolts tighten down with hand.

The oring was tight but it did go in when I added oil. I removed it again and the oring did not tear so it does work.
